Can Think of No One Better Positioned or Qualified

I am so pleased to offer my enthusiastic support to Judy Barron, running for Board of Education. I first became acquainted with her seven years ago when my child was in a vocational program in high school to learn job skills, and the Community Dining Room, of which Ms. Barron is executive director, was one of the job sites. This continued as my young person went into the Transition Program for 18- to 21-year-olds run by and part of Branford Public Schools, helping students who need additional support in activities of daily living and vocational skills. This quickly became my child’s favorite job site, not because of the work but because of the caring and patient people directed by Judy and direct involvement herself in how to observe and react to a person who may learn differently or have psycho-social challenges in relating to others. Basically, how to work together and overcome difficulties, recognizing everyone’s contributions as valuable. With the pressures kids face today and all the resulting mental health challenges, I can think of no one better positioned or more qualified to represent the best interests of our young people than Judy Barron!
