A Balance of Leadership, Energy, and New Ideas

I support Eric Couture and Joel D’Angelo for first selectman and selectman, respectively. This team brings a balance of leadership, energy, and new ideas as we move forward.

I have known Eric for 20 years, having watched him grow up in town through youth sports. I saw him go off to college to earn a degree in physics and political science. After graduation, he returned to Killingworth and began serving the community in various roles.

Eric was a member of the Killingworth Energy Task Force and of the Regional School District 17 (RSD17) Board of Education (BOE). In both roles, he made significant contributions, demonstrating fiscal responsibility and leadership. As a member of the RSD17 BOE, Eric acted as liaison with the Killingworth Board of Selectmen, where he worked to productively align these two boards through improved communication. Eric is committed to maintaining the rural character of Killingworth while meeting its future needs.

Dr. Joel D’Angelo, a 15-year resident, has served as a volunteer in the town for almost as long. I have worked with Joel while he served on our Board of Education. He was both board chairman and chair of the Finance Committee. His approach helped the town benefit from tightly managed education budgets that delivered high-quality education. Joel serves through consensus-building in the spirit of true collaboration.

Professionally, Joel earned his Ph.D. from Wesleyan University. He is an academic administrator and teacher at the Hopkins School in New Haven. My friend and neighbor, Joel brings a long-standing commitment to Killingworth and a desire to see that it remains an attractive and affordable place prepared for the challenges ahead.
