Our Children Need Your Vote

On Sept. 12, there will be an important Democratic Primary to determine who will run for Board of Education (BOE) positions in November.

I’m writing today to support Amanda Gabriele, Thais Moore, and Lori Mansur (Empowering North Haven’s Future). This team is made up of two current BOE members who have already proven they can get the job done. Both have been advocates for all students and always speak up in the best interest of our children. Lori shares the same values and would help continue the important work Amanda and Thais started during their BOE terms. That work includes attention to continued transportation issues, which I’ve recently been very vocal about. I’ll continue to push for the safety of every child in town as they’re transported to and from school. Amanda, Thais, and Lori all support my advocacy for transportation accountability and more oversight, which are unfortunately needed at this time.

As a veteran educator and parent of two children with IEPs in the school system, I’m confident these women will do what’s right for our children. While I support all three of these candidates wholeheartedly, I need to give special recognition to Amanda Gabriele, who’s served tirelessly for the past six years on our BOE. She has supported my family through very unfortunate circumstances. It’d be devastating to lose her from our BOE.

I’m upset the Democratic Town Committee (DTC) doesn’t recognize how dedicated Amanda is to the children of this town. Shame on them for not supporting her! The DTC does not speak for me! I will make my voice heard at the primary. I encourage all registered democrats to do the same, especially parents of school-aged children. Our children need your vote on Sept. 12! Please come out to vote for Amanda, Thais, and Lori!
