Exactly the Qualities
I wholeheartedly endorse Democrats Amanda Gabriele, Thais Moore, and Lori Mansur for the Board of Education (BOE).
Over the last five years, this trio played a major role in making North Haven more welcoming and inclusive, changing the mascot, and hosting our inaugural Pride. They have clear plans to invest in our schools to ensure families want to move to and stay in North Haven for an excellent education and welcoming community!
Their platform builds on three pillars: driving academic excellence through fully and proactively funding education, making schools inclusive and welcoming to all children, and collaborating with all members of the BOE, administration, and community.
Thais, in 14 months on the BOE, made our calendar more inclusive, tackled transportation issues, and championed diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Her collaborative nature and focus on student/educator emotional well-being strengthen our community.
Lori, in years of consistent BOE attendance, has fiercely advocated for special education and adding nursing to our vocational programs, a passion that benefits all children.
Amanda, in six years on the BOE, demonstrated an ability to inspire our community toward action. Known to peers/administrators for her careful analysis and research, she takes time to ensure everyone understands the stakes and what we can accomplish together. Her door/email/phone are always open should someone need support or information from the BOE, and she always closes the loop with the answer or support needed. Simply put, Amanda is a tireless public servant, and we need her to remain on the BOE.
These qualities—careful analysis, collaboration, communication, and community—are exactly the qualities Democrats should seek in our candidates. They have already made our schools more welcoming and will continue to make North Haven a wonderful place to live and a desirable district for new families.
Vote Amanda, Thais, and Lori on Sept. 12!
