Realizing Clinton’s True Potential
Hello fellow Clinton residents, my name is Hank Teskey and I am running for Town Council. Nine years ago, my wife Maria, our two children and I moved to Clinton. We love our home, our neighborhood and the charming town of Clinton. I would like to serve on the Clinton Town Council because I find it rewarding to give back to the community and because I think I have experience that could contribute to Clinton’s success.
I have worked at Electric Boat for the past 27 years, most of that time as the director of taxes, but the last few years as the controller. I have been a CPA in Connecticut since 1991 and I have a law degree from Pace University.
Since we moved to Clinton, I have served on the Economic Development Commission. Prior to living in Clinton we lived in Westbrook for 17 years. There I served on the Board of Park and Recreation and as the vice president of Little League.
As Clinton looks to its future, I see great opportunity. Starting with the revitalization of our downtown. This includes façade improvements, beautification of town owned spaces and the appropriate development of the Pierson School. An increase in housing units in and around downtown will bring foot traffic which will support local businesses. Additionally, we can build on our successful partnership between Clinton manufacturers and our schools, expanding that partnership to culinary arts, retail, and professional services.
Through programs and incentives, smart business growth can spread throughout the town, resulting in the tax burden being spread over a broader base. We can accomplish all this and still protect, even enhance, Clinton’s beautiful small-town character.
Working together, and with the right leadership, Clinton will begin to realize its true potential.
