A Safety Issue
When walkers or joggers follow the traffic (incorrectly), they create a potential hazard for cyclists. Cyclists can’t see behind them for traffic as well as can a walker or jogger in their biking lane. For cyclist’s safety, please move over for the five seconds it takes to pass so the cyclist is not forced blindly out into traffic. For walkers or joggers traveling with the traffic and wearing ear buds, in my opinion, it is dangerous for you as you can’t hear what is going on behind you; it also does not allow a cyclist to let you know they are passing you so you are not taken by surprise. Additionally, since you can’t see the cyclist, you are forcing them into potential traffic. Thank you for your courtesy as we share the road.
