Costly and Burdensome Boondoggle

What are we supposed to do with Branford's new million-dollar trash cans? There is nowhere on our property to conceal these mammoth (65-gallon "small") eyesores; our old trash cans fit into an attractive container on our deck. There is no way we can wrestle these things across our sloping yard, especially through the snow; our old containers could be carried through the house in bad weather. It looks as if we will be driving our own trash to the transfer station.

The Town is conducting an exhaustive and expensive consultation about athletic fields, but there was no opportunity for taxpayers to weigh in on this costly and burdensome boondoggle. We're told that the Town owns these containers; maybe they will take them away.
