Irresponsible and Excessive

Recently a glossy full-color sales piece was included in this paper, advocating for a $10 million project renovating and constructing new Athletic facilities at John Winthrop Middle School and Valley Regional High School. It contains this statement: the fields suffer from "years of inadequate and deferred maintenance, poor irrigation, and drainage, as well as numerous safety and accessibility concerns."

Why were they not maintained? Now taxpayers are supposed to foot the bill for their lack of stewardship and responsibility? They want to build more, yet do not even take care of what they have!

Also, in this piece under Timeline, after this project is completed, is "2025-2027, Additional Projects as determined by Sub-Committee." They will never stop. Residents need to pay attention and oppose this plan on Tuesday, May 2.

Millions are earmarked for the controversial Mislick property (ringed in wetlands, with several easements), which Region 4 purchased without having the funds, without an updated appraisal or evaluation for this use, and without a town meeting or referendum.

Now is the time to Vote No on this irresponsible and excessive project.
