11/02/2022 08:00 AMAs someone currently dealing with the difficult decisions involved with managing the care of an elderly relative, I am impressed with State Representative Christine Goupil’s commitment to our seniors and families.
Christine has supported age-in-place legislation, including the expansion of adult daycares to help ease the burden on family members of seniors who may need intensive care. Having access to these resources will help with the difficult decisions that are often placed on individuals and families who want to care for their aging family members but may not be able to do so due to work and family obligations. Even with the expansion of remote work arrangements, aging family members still might need more intense care than some of us are able to provide alone. More resources in these areas may allow our loved ones to remain independent and in their own homes for longer and the families can rest assured they are healthy, happy, and safe.
Rep. Goupil is committed to supporting our seniors. She has helped to eliminate taxes on pensions and is committed to protecting seniors from predatory housing environments and providing necessary homecare support while expanding adult daycare. This kind of committed and proactive leadership is why I’m looking forward to sending Christine Goupil back to work for us on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
