Willing to Seek the Best Solutions

I am writing in support of the re-election of Christine Cohen as our state senator. I have always found her to be well-informed and willing to seek the best solutions to the problems at hand. Her commitment to the environment is of particular interest to me.

One of the recent concerns in certain areas in my town of Killingworth has been contamination of soils and water with the “forever” chemicals known as PFAS. Sen. Cohen has, from the beginning, been here to support our efforts determining the extent of the contamination and our efforts to seek remediation.

In her position as Senate Chair of the Environment Committee, she led the passage of a bill which bans PFAS chemicals from food packaging and firefighting foam, the latter being the source of Killingworth's contamination.

Continuing to improve on protections for our environment is part of why she is seeking re-election. Cohen does her homework and has worked through the legislative process to eliminate PFAS chemical use, to provide mechanisms by which our coastal towns can improve their resiliency in the face of sea-level rise, and to improve waste mitigation procedures. She most recently was active in the local efforts to save Deer Lake from development, a win for the local environment, the people of Connecticut and the planet.

Please join me in voting for Christine Cohen for State Senator on Tuesday, Nov. 8. I would urge you to Vote Row A all the way for good governance, a willingness to reach across the aisle, and a commitment to fact-based solutions.
