Exactly What We Need

As a Democrat, it’s no surprise that I tend to vote for Democrats, and I plan on voting for Governor Ned Lamont. As a resident of the 23rd District, though, I also plan on voting to re-elect Devin Carney.

To me, Devin has always been an independent voice for the district. I like that he has made a point of building relationships with his Democratic colleagues and working across the aisle for the betterment of the State. He is fiscally conservative, but he is also environmentally conscious and supports equality across the board. He has been nationally recognized for his work in bringing people together and working on legislation that benefits younger generations. He is a board member of the National Caucus of Environmental Legislators, which works on state environmental policy. He has supported many bills I like, including bills for women’s pay equity, children’s mental health access, ensuring essential benefits for women are covered by insurance, and a cap on insulin prices. He has always consistently been there for our beach communities, which is vital to me as a beach association resident.

For me, Devin is exactly what we need in Hartford. He listens to our concerns, works hard, shows up, and has been there these past eight years for us. I hope you will join me in supporting Devin on Tuesday, Nov. 8. He’s got this Democrat’s vote!
