I respectfully disagree with David L. LaMay’s Nov. 4 letter “100 Percent Volunteers.” Volunteers choose their endeavors and provide vital services to society. On the other hand, elected officials are chosen and determined by the voters. Therefore, voters expect elected officials to engage with all their constituents by listening, communicating, and explaining.
