Brings People Together
Let me tell you the top 10 reasons you should vote for Jamie Young for Killingworth Board of Selectmen.
Jamie thinks for herself. Ask anyone she’s worked with—as town representative on the Regional Water Authority, as a member of the Inland Wetlands Commission, as a lawyer, a professor, a volunteer. Jamie won’t accept “That’s the way we’ve always done it” as an answer.
Jamie thinks about residents and the issues that are important to them, from keeping taxes down to making sure Killingworth develops the way we want it to.
Jamie listens. She asks questions and considers all angles. Jamie brings people together, because she puts people ahead of party. (Plus, she’s actually had advanced training in mediation!)
Jamie is knowledgeable. She has coordinated the work of diverse agencies, digitized procedures, and streamlined state contracts and processes, saving hundreds of thousands of tax dollars.
Jamie does her research. I’ve seen her plow through inch-thick reports and analyses when no one else would. Jamie is brave. She stands up for what is right even when it’s unpopular. Jamie is honest—not confrontational, not aggressive, just honest.
Jamie loves trees, and streams, and trails. (She and her son Thomas recently spent five hours helping clear the trails at Parmelee.) Protecting greenways and expanding access to open space will be priorities for her.
Jamie has more energy than a whole-house generator. She went to law school, graduated, and became a lawyer while raising three young sons. Need I say more?
Killingworth needs Jamie’s thoughtfulness, her energy, and her capacity for working productively with others. I encourage your readers to join me in voting for her, along with Lou Annino, who needs no introduction, for Board of Selectmen on Nov. 2. Let’s keep Killingworth strong.
