Whatever Challenges Arise
When our mom told us she wanted our opinion on a run for Board of Finance, my brothers and I did not hesitate to encourage her. Mom is extremely loyal to the town of Madison and cares deeply for its residents. She has lived in Madison for more than 20 years and has always been involved in some way. Whether it was running the Madison Little League concession stand or chair of the Board of Education, in every role she has strived to make Madison a better place for everyone.
I expect her objective on the Board of Finance will be the same. My mother is also probably the most determined woman I know. No matter what the world throws her way, she always dusts herself off and gets back up. We have watched her over the past six years on the Board of Education and it has not been easy. I am certain she will carry this mentality with her to the Board of Finance and can handle whatever challenges arise. Her social presence and unquenchable optimism is also unparalleled.
I have been asked on numerous occasions, “Hey, is your mom ever unhappy?” The reason you will most likely never see her unhappy is because,e despite how frustrating her responsibilities can become, she is always aiming to keep the needs, wants, and happiness of the town as her main priority (second only to her family). That’s why when she let me know that she was running for the Board of Finance, I was able to fully encourage her. I know she can do anything, handle anything, and smile through it all!
