Continued Generosity
The North Haven Lions Club would like to express its deep gratitude for the continued generosity of the citizens of North Haven. At our August Second Saturday Service Project, we collected approximately 750 pounds of food, to be shared between the North Haven Community Services food bank and the Ecumenical food bank at the North Haven Congregational Church. This is by far the most we have collected in a single event this year. We also received $120 in gift cards and cash (which will be used to purchase food for our next event) and well over 200 pairs of eyeglasses.
And our four-legged friends did not fare badly with more than 100 pounds of dog and cat food and treats and 25 towels and five blankets that will be shared between The Animal Haven and Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation.
We have seen a lot of familiar faces who come by every month with a donation. No donation is too small—100 people bringing 1 can or box of food means 100 cans or boxes of food for the Food Bank. Hope to see you on Saturday, Sept. 11.
