Can’t Even Acknowledge
I was encouraged to read Dottie Simonides June 24 letter [“Greatly Dismayed”] in regard to the July 4 parade. I, too, was dismayed that the parade was started at 10 a.m. and not 1 p.m.
Our country was founded on godly principles. Now we can’t even acknowledge that on Independence Day. In a way, this is forcing people to make a choice between honoring their country and honoring their God. Was anyone looking at what had been done previously when Independence Day falls on a Sunday? All someone had to do is ask anyone what had been done in the past.
In the future, it would seem someone on the Independence Day Committee should research accurate information about our town’s parade.
