Heartfelt Appreciation
March 20 was the first day of spring 2021. It was a beautiful day and not just due to the weather and what the spring represents, but also because in Guilford we saw the spirit of generosity that lasted all day. Guilford area businesses and individuals came together (safely) for the benefit of Meals on Wheels. Meals on Wheels relies heavily donations to provide hot meals to Guilford’s elderly, infirmed, and disabled. We could not be more grateful to all who made our event a success.
The event, Paddle for a Purpose, was hosted by The Guilford Swim and Racquet Club. The was the second annual tournament and it is an honor that Meals on Wheels was chosen to be the beneficiary.
A host of shoreline businesses and individuals contributed: those who provided delicious refreshments, those who provided goods and services for our raffles, those who attended, and those who purchased raffle tickets.
Dunkin’ started the day off with donated hot beverages and Jersey Mike’s provided a delicious to-go lunch generously paid for by Steamatic of North Haven. Raffle items were contributed by Two Roads of Stratford, Pasta Vita in Old Saybrook, Mindful Good of Guilford, Urbane Salon of Guilford, Villa Nail Salon, Shoreline Yoga and Wellness, MOOYAH of Guilford, Chamard Vineyard of Clinton, Buffalina of Guilford, Massage Savvy of Guilford, Palumbos of Guilford, Oasis Nail Salon of Guilford, Switzer Waste of Madison, and Mystic restaurant Rocks 21 donated by the Farrah family of Guilford. Wonderful art contributions were made by Linda Westgard, Michael Crampton, and Pam Welch.
We at meals on Wheels wish to extend our heartfelt appreciation to one and all. It was a wonderfully memorable day.
