Predators Are Thriving
I’ve noticed in the last few months signs being posted in the area of Nod Road, Airline Road, River Road, and Boulder Lake area of Clinton pertaining to missing pets, mostly cats. One night returning home at about 11 p.m., I heard very loud screaming from two animals fighting and when I investigated out of curiosity and with a very powerful light plus a bit of patience, I witnessed in the trees and vines on Nod Road directly across from West Shore Drive two fisher cats fighting or loudly playing.
All pet owners should be aware of the predators that are thriving in our area. I’ve seen many coyotes in the last week and found an active den near New Road and Hammonasset Connector during the springtime. My hope is those pets return safely.
