11/04/2020 07:00 AMAs an active volunteer who helps with a number of our local non-profits, I’d like to take this opportunity to help shine a light on the many volunteers who work in our Branford Food Pantry. The Branford Food Pantry is an all-volunteer organization operating in the basement of the Pat Andriole Volunteer Services Center on Harrison Avenue. This is not to be confused with the Community Dining Room. The Food Pantry is 100 percent run by volunteers, including the leadership, so donations go a very long way. In my experience, the volunteers at the Food Pantry are very welcoming and kind to everyone.
As the holidays are now approaching and we are still caught in the grips of the COVID-19 pandemic, more families than ever need help and support. Our community is very fortunate that the Branford Food Pantry provides healthy groceries to families within our community that need such help. No family should go hungry—especially during the holidays. I strongly support the Branford Food Pantry and hope your readers will consider supporting them as well.
