In a letter to the editor on July 30 [“A Full Accounting” by Harry Ruppenicker], it was pointed out that State Senator Norm Needleman (D-33)’s firm received between $2- to $5 million of taxpayers funds through the Paycheck Protection Plan loans. Mr. Needleman owns Tower Laboratories, which specializes in effervescent products that would not be significantly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
He was asked to explain his reasoning for accepting the taxpayer money. Up until now, I have not heard him do so. As a voting taxpayer of the 33rd District, I’m asking again for a full accounting.
