Full Steam

In the past month, our little nonprofit that could has been chugging along at full steam! A Little Compassion, Inc., and The Nest Coffee House would like to thank our community of supporters from across the shoreline for their support of our mission. On Nov. 4, we held our first-ever Water Lantern Celebration, which lit the way for people of all abilities. More than 200 people hand decorated and launched water lanterns at Plattwood Park in Deep River to honor individuals of all abilities as well as those that have been a part of their lives.

This generous community made it all possible from being sponsors of our event, attending the event, donating materials and food items, and pitching in to volunteer with helping hands. We will be able to continue our work to provide employment, work experience, social opportunities, and important autism and IDD acceptance activities. We wish to thank all the volunteer, participants, and supporters who came out in great numbers for us.

Special thanks goes out to our sponsors including the Abercrombie Scott family; Adams IGA; Anchor & Compass; Beacon Fine Home Inspection; Celebrations; Child and Adult Orthodontics; Citizen’s Bank; Clearview Consulting; Deep River Fire Department; Deep River Garden Club; Deep River Snacks; the Dilger family; Essex Savings Bank; G’s Treasures; Keigwin Middle School; The Lace Factory; Liberty Bank; MPower; Murtha Cullina Law; Olive Oyl’s; Olsen Sanitation; Kristen Olsen; Christine Palm; Prism Autism; Project Courage; Red House; Annie Riley; Riverwind Inn; Rotary Club of Deep River; Scott’s Orchards; Shepherd, Finkelman, Miller and Shah; Shore Discount Liquors; State Farm Insurance; Tower Labs; US Foods; and the Winchell family.

We are grateful to be part of a community that strives to be inclusive, open, and welcoming to those of all abilities.
