06/12/2019 08:00 AMThere will be many opportunities in the upcoming mayoral election for all candidates to advocate their positions on important issues facing our town. One of the most important issues I believe we can all agree on is improving our town’s image and healing the frayed relationships between our political parties. Moving our community forward is not a Democratic or Republican issue. I promise to commit myself fully to the office of mayor of East Haven for each and every resident, because that’s what they deserve.
The town of East Haven has been cast in a negative light for far too long. We can change that and, under my leadership, it will become a top priority. East Haven is a fine place to live and raise a family. The future of our town need not be tied to our past.
What can we do to accomplish this simple goal? I think the first thing is to begin the discussion of what we all have in common and how we can project that positive attitude outward for all to see. We are still a small town and that is a great source of pride to many people who live and work here. We have a beautiful town beach and many sports-related activities for our youth. We have dedicated professionals and teachers. And we have real heroes living here who risk their lives to protect us. This is the East Haven I know and I believe in; this is where our mutual interests begins.
The title of being a Democrat or Republican should not ever be separate from our vision of what we can do together. I believe there is a great opportunity to heal our frayed political relationships and the time is now.
I welcome the opportunity to work with all of our residents to make our future bright.
