Clearly Understands the Priorities

With election day just a few days away, I am writing to encourage the members of our community to join me in casting a vote in favor of Christine Cohen for State Senate. The challenges facing the next Connecticut legislature are numerous and daunting—everything from access to affordable healthcare to enormous budgetary deficits, funding for education and transportation to unfunded pension liabilities.

Christine has the experience to tackle these issues head on. She has worked for Stanley Black & Decker and other Fortune 100 companies and is now the successful owner of Cohen’s Bagel Company in Madison. She personally understands the struggles small business owners experience while trying to make ends meet while doing the best they can for their employees. The need to grow our economy and provide good jobs for our young people will be a priority for her.

Most important, Christine clearly understands the priorities, needs, and financial limits of our community. As a Guilford Board of Education member, she works hard in a bipartisan way to provide the best educational opportunities available while understanding and being sensitive to their cost to the taxpayers.

Christine will be an important addition to the Senate for many reasons. Along with her intelligence, common sense and strong work ethic, she will bring her experience as a mom, a small business owner, a Board of Ed member, a sports enthusiast, and community volunteer to a Senate that currently has only 25 percent of its membership composed of women.

I encourage your readers to join me and vote for Christine Cohen for State Senate!
