08/08/2018 08:00 AMI am writing to remind all eligible voters to vote in the Tuesday, Aug. 14 primary. In North Haven, all five polling places will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The results of the primary will determine the candidates for election this November. For unaffiliated voters, it is not too late to register with a party so that they may participate in this very important primary. The Registrar’s Office has details and deadlines.
My main focus the past five years has always been to represent the citizens of North Haven. All of my energy is spent on local town affairs, and as a rule, I’ve stayed out of state elections. However, as a member of the Board of Selectmen, I understand the importance of effective leadership in Hartford.
Accordingly, I encourage my fellow Democrats to vote for Aili McKeen for the 34th State Senate District nomination in the primary on Aug. 14. We will need Aili McKeen on the ballot in November. Aili is a lifelong Wallingford resident (the 34th District represents Wallingford, North Haven, East Haven, and Durham), and she has the experience and determination to do the job.
Aili McKeen has a commanding grasp on issues important to working class people such as healthcare, education, and job creation. Aili also advocates for expanded senior property tax relief programs. Aili McKeen deserves our votes on Aug. 14. Democrats need Aili on the ballot in November.
Selectman Sally J. Buemi (D)
