07/25/2018 08:00 AMRecent state budget debacles jeopardized the future of the state-operated Schools for Aviation Technicians in Stratford and Hartford, the only schools of their kind in Connecticut training students for high-paying jobs in the aviation industry.
Being a North Haven resident and private pilot who supports these schools, I shared my concerns with State Representative Dave Yaccarino (R-87) and asked for his help.
Dave responded by inviting some of his legislative colleagues representing Stratford to attend a meeting and tour that I arranged of the Stratford school, conducted by its lead instructor. Everyone attending this tour realized the importance of saving and improving the school, which the legislature finally accomplished.
I am one of many who have firsthand experience with Dave’s willingness to go above and beyond to help his constituents. His tireless efforts to improve the lives of average people in North Haven and our state has earned him our support for another term in Hartford.
