Hold Them Accountable
I would like to congratulate the newly elected and re-elected candidates who will be, over the course of the next two years, working to make East Haven the very best it can be for all residents.
It is very important that those who were elected and now form the very fabric of East Haven government remember that the same residents who cast their ballots in support of them will be affected by every decision made by them over the course of the next few years and it is essential to the quality of life in our community that political gamesmanship not be played in the course of their decision making process. The very residents who placed their faith in officials’ abilities to perform the duties of the offices they now hold, must be placed first from the very young to our eldest residents.
May they all work together to ensure that East Haven and its leadership moves past appearing in the papers for the wrong reasons and instead place the focus on appearing in the papers and on the news for all the right positive reasons.
The residents who voted for and supported the candidates of their choice must now hold these same officials accountable for their actions and we must work with our newly elected and sworn-in government officials to make our community the very best it can be. We must do that which is necessary, attend local meetings, and be an active part of erasing the negative stigma attached to East Haven. We can do better and by working together we will truly once again be the shining star of the shoreline.
