Now More than Ever
The Board of the Friends of the Essex Library would like to thank all who contributed to the success of our Spring 2017 Book Sale. A successful sale requires significant work by many volunteers including those who work during the day of the event; those who sort, repair, price, and store books in preparation for the sale; those who help set-up for the sale by arranging tables, chairs and books by category; and those who put everything away afterwards. Many people contribute hours to this event. We are especially grateful to seven Valley Regional National Honor Society students, the Community Services Team, and several younger students who assisted in our set-up and clean-up efforts by lifting and stowing heavy boxes of books both into and out of our book storage shed. As with past sales, we thank the library staff for its support, with a special thank you to Anna Cierocki and Norma Wright for being with us.
We would be remiss in not thanking those who contributed, and those who purchased, books, CDs, and DVDs. Many were familiar faces and their ongoing support is noticed and appreciated.
I encourage your readers to stop by the library anytime between June 1 and July 31 for our Beach Books Bonanza. Hardcovers will be $2 and paperbacks $1. Books have been culled for light, easy summer reading, perfect for the beach, the mountains, a car, train or plane ride, or anywhere your summer takes you. Take a few along. Now more than ever, the community’s support is needed and deeply appreciated.
