Stamping Out Hunger
On May 13, the U.S. postal carriers braved the rainy weather and collected food from East Haven residents as part of their annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive. All food collected in East Haven has been brought to the East Haven Food Pantry for pantry clients.
Because of the generosity of East Haven residents, the pantry received almost 1,900 pounds of food, our biggest collection to date. Thanks go to the postal carriers and the residents of East Haven for helping to stock the shelves at the pantry. I would also like to say “thank you” to all the volunteers who helped unload the trucks in the rain, checked dates to make sure the food hadn’t expired, and sorted and stocked the pantry shelves.
With the help of volunteers and donations received the pantry is able to continue supporting more than 400 East Haven families. Thanks go again to all who participated in this great food drive.
