That Being Said
As the Foxon Recreation League (FRL) embarks on its 60th year, the mayor’s office has found a new home for our Community Center.
As many of your readers are aware, The Reggie Hatch Foxon Community Center has been housed in the Old Foxon School for many years, but with the conditions there deteriorating and the availability of the former R. Vernon Hays School, the town has seen fit to move us to this new location.
It is considerably closer to our fields and has easy access and plenty of room. It is a welcome upgrade from our old place. That being said, it is in need of a lot of repairs. Notably the roof is leaking, tar is running down the walls, and rugs are saturated with water.
It is our fervent hope that the town will address these problems and do the necessary repairs to make it worthy of the many organizations that use it, as we at FRL pledge to continue to do our part. And, we hope that we will continue to have the use of the building for many years, providing for the league, the Girl and Boy Scouts, town organizations, and the exercise groups.
