A Strange Phenomenon
I am a fairly new town resident of Guilford, although I have been working in town for the past 10 years. I am so excited to be living in town, within walking distance to my office where I am so very fortunate to be able to bring my dog, Maggie, to work every day. It is truly a privilege and I am thankful to my bosses.
I love walking Maggie around our town especially the Green. However, there is a strange phenomenon that happens every winter—people stop picking up after their dogs. I see dog waste on our beautiful Green, which is ridiculous since our town provides waste bags on each of the four corners of the Green. I see dog waste around our beautiful town. It is lazy and irresponsible for people to not clean up after their dogs, and even lazier is the person who takes the time to bag the waste then leaves the bag.
Come on people (they know who they are)—stop being lazy and show some town pride keep our town clean. Our Parks & Recreation people work so hard all year long to keep the Green beautiful and I, for one, am thankful and intend to keep it that way. I do not know of another town in Connecticut that has a Green as beautiful as ours.
