On May 6, a phenomenal group of women hosted the Raise a Glass for the E.C. Scranton Memorial Library fundraiser at the Madison Beach Hotel. The event, sponsored by Guilford Savings Bank; Bershtein, Volpe, and McKeon; and the Madison Beach Hotel, was a wonderful success. Attendees enjoyed the music of John Cappelletti while perusing the silent auction with more than 25 items donated by many local businesses and other wonderful supporters of the library.

Our live auction certainly was lively with Madison’s own first selectman, Tom Banisch, and his wife Eileen as our auctioneers. We were most grateful to have with us our senator in Hartford, Ted Kennedy, Jr., and his wife Kiki. We appreciate Ted’s support of local libraries and the work he does in Hartford.
