Kindness and Welcoming Spirit
I was fortunate enough to travel to The Old Stone Church with a friend of mine on Feb. 9 and participate in the Pancake Dinner for Fat Tuesday.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself as the event was well organized and for only $7, they had many different pancakes to choose from including banana, strawberry, chocolate chip, and more as well as serving fresh fruit, coffee, and orange juice and, to top it all off, a king cake from Louisiana. The church members made me feel very welcome and right at home as they invited me and my friend to pull up a chair and sit at the table with them and join in their conversation. I truly felt blessed and a part of the church’s family.
It was very nice to be able to participate in the pancake dinner and I would like to thank everyone from the gentleman who served us to the pastor who said a prayer and the other members of the church and attendees who truly made us feel at home and weren’t simply attending another activity that was trying to raise funds.
East Haven is lucky to have the Old Stone Church as part of the community and I look forward to attending the church’s next activity based on the kindness and welcoming spirit we were shown by all at this pancake dinner.
