Kindness Passed On

I was at the cashier at Stop & Shop in Madison on New Year’s Eve in the morning when I discovered I had no credit card. Thinking that I had lost it, I panicked. I was totally embarrassed, not having any cash or checks and holding up the checkout line and acting somewhat demented.
A very kind woman in line behind me wished me a Happy New Year and paid my grocery bill, $76. At that point I was so embarrassed I do not even recall thanking her. Whoever she is, she should know that her kindness has been passed on.
