Generosity and Support

The Feed the Homeless Dinner at the Overflow Homeless Shelter in New Haven (affiliated with the Columbus House) on April 27 was a very successful community outreach event.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Steve Wallack, the owner of The School House Deli. The School House Deli catered the main dish at a very reduced rate and made a significant impact in our ability to carry out our mission.

Steve’s generosity and support allowed us to serve a delicious meal to more than 100 clients. Our collaborative efforts, along with other volunteer groups, such as St. Margaret’s Church in Madison saves the Columbus House more than $120,000 in food and staff expenses.

This service project also provides those participating a heightened sense of awareness and sensitivity on how to help the poor.

Volunteer opportunities are truly rewarding and memorable experience for all. Together we can make a difference!
