A Vibrant Support Network
I wanted to welcome the WIN Network ["Divorcing Women can 'WIN' with Teamwork," April 10] as a new resource for women on the shoreline. Women in particular face a long and often difficult process of creating a successful new life after divorce. However, on behalf of the dedicated staff and volunteers at Women & Family Life Center, I wanted to clarify a misperception that WIN is the only resource of this type on the shoreline.
Women & Family Life Center has offered a vibrant support network for women facing divorce for many years. We offer two weekly support groups run by mental health professionals, a quarterly seminar run by a financial planner and family law attorney ("What Every Women Needs to Know About Divorce"), monthly one-on-one legal consultations that are open to both men and women, and one-on-one referrals to other agencies for special needs/complex issues, again open to men and women. Additionally, we are in the process of developing a back to work program to help women who have been out of the workforce for a long time.
For information on these programs and all our resources for women and families facing many different life transitions, I encourage your readers to visit our website www.womenandfamilylife.org
