11/20/2013 11:00 PMI thought I had seen the absolute nadir of local politics when the town of East Haven re-elected taco Joe Maturo as mayor, but I was wrong. Today we have pictures of the recently re-elected town clerk, Stacy Gravino-Piccirillo, who ran as a Democrat, at the Republican victory party accepting a big hug from Maturo.
Two days after winning re-election with the help of the Democratic Party, she has now become a Republican. Does anyone believe that she didn't make that decision long before the election? Is it possible to believe that she didn't have a hand in Maturo's re-election?
Politicians have the sad reputation of not being honest with the electorate, but this certainly raises the bar for future politicians in terms of integrity, or lack thereof. Does the word "ethics" have no meaning anymore to people such as this?
