Only Looking for More Theater
I am writing to support Selectman Alan Sturtz in the Sept. 10 Democratic Primary.
Your Aug. 29 edition published a letter from Sally Buemi and three supporters-the same three supporters who were also published on the editorial page of the North Haven Advisor. In half a page of opinion, none seems to object to a single thing that Mr. Sturtz has actually done.
Instead, Ms. Buemi's supporters seem to only be looking for more theater at Board of Selectmen meetings. She doesn't object to what the majority is doing or has done, or she would be running for first selectman. Instead, her key edge over Mr. Sturtz is that she'll ask more questions in meetings.
Our town has an annual budget and workforce that makes it a large, complex organization. Mr. Sturtz has served as town clerk and tax collector and has been on the Board of Selectmen for two years. He's also been active with the Ridge Road School PTA. He has the experience and background to make substantive contributions to the Board of Selectmen-not just provide more entertaining content for NHTV.
