10/29/2012 12:00 AMOur state's Democratic senators made it their top priority this year to work diligently to increase the number of jobs in Connecticut. State Senator Ed Meyer is our voting district's senator and he worked very passionately to pass legislation this year that will help our state's small businesses. The assistance that these businesses will receive will protect the jobs that are available now and to create more job vacancies.
This type of legislation has all to do with helping to boost Connecticut's economy. Indeed, the job incentives sponsored by Senator Meyer have produced about 800 new jobs so far this year and preserved another 1,500 jobs.
I just recently read that Connecticut's small businesses employ more than 60 percent of the state's workforce. It just makes real sense that helping small businesses to grow jobs and grow their revenues is directly tied to improving our state's economic outlook.
Let's put Senator Meyer back to work in Hartford for the next legislative term. Let's give him our votes so that he can continue to work on other legislative initiatives that will further aid in improving Connecticut's economy.
I encourage your readers to vote for State Senator Ed Meyer this coming Nov. 6.
