Stettinger Throws the Javelin at Nationals
Junior Alice Stettinger competed among the nation’s top high school athletes when she threw the javelin at the 2022 New Balance Outdoor Nationals meet that took place in Philadelphia from June 16 to 19. Stettinger finished in 30th place for the javelin while representing the East Haven girls’ outdoor track team at the national meet.
Stettinger participated in the championship heat of the javelin at the New Balance Nationals last week. Stettinger recorded a top throw of 93 feet-3 inches on her way to placing 30th in the event.
Stettinger put together another exceptional run for the Yellowjackets during the 2022 spring campaign, winning the javelin at three postseason meets. Stettinger finished first in the javelin at the SCC East Sectional Championship (120-1), the SCC Championship (122-2), and the Class M State Championship (120-5), earning top honors in the event for the second-straight year at the sectional and state meets. Stettinger went on to finish second in the javelin at the State Open (125-10) and then came in 15th place at the New England Championship (107-0) on behalf of the Yellowjackets.
