Guilford Grizzlies Travel Baseball Claims a Pair of Crowns
There was a lot of excitement for the Guilford Grizzlies travel baseball program on Father’s Day as Guilford’s 10-U and 12-U teams both won their respective 2022 East Shore Division championships. The two title games took place at Annex Field in New Haven on June 19.
The Grizzlies’ 12-U team claimed a 13-12 victory against the Southington Knights in the championship to take the title in the East Shore Division. Guilford, which had also won a preseason tournament earlier in the year, finished its season on a 13-game winning streak.
The Guilford Grizzlies 10-U squad defeated the CT Gators of Orange by an 8-6 score in its championship game to bring home the East Shore trophy. The Grizzlies had an outstanding year that included a regular-season record of 16-1, after which they notched four postseason victories to finish at 20-3 overall.
The players on the Guilford 12-U team are Ethan Aulenti, Cole Connellan, Ethan Eagle, Noah Loban, Eric Lowe, Nolan McGowan, Ben Mennone, Charlie Ogeneski, Chris Ogeneski, Ethan Russo, Bobby Shaw, and Nick Vigliotti. The coaches for the Grizzlies are Bob Shaw, Chris Loban, Frank Mennone, Chris Ogeneski, and Ralph Russo.
The athletes on the Grizzlies’ 10-U team are Adam Aulenti, Matt Cassidy, Landon Diglio, Brayden Dill, Hunter Jackson, Myles Loban, Evan Lowe, Marco Nunzianto, Emilio Parese, Justin Skoglund, Nick Tafro, Nico Tropiano, and Will Zanchetti. Guilford is coached by Dan Tafro and Mark White.
