The Haddam-Killingworth Middle School (HKMS) wrestling team put together an undefeated season that featured an outstanding performance at the East Haven Tournament this winter. The HKMS wrestling team won several medals on its way to taking the title at the tournament. HKMS competed against eight other schools and scored 149 points to finish in first place at Joseph Melillo Middle School in East Haven. The next-closest team to HKMS in the standings scored 109 points.

Tyler Napierkowski and Josh Frith, who are both 8th-grade students, finished in first place in their respective weight classes for HKMS at the East Haven Tournament. The other athletes on the squad include Ethan Casini, Kellen Cassidy, Tyler Dickinson, Hugh Law, Cael Loria, Mark Pietruska, Harrison Reed, Nolan Sheppard, Matt Singer, Andrew Soucie, and Sawyer Todd. The HKMS wrestling team is coached by Matt Thomas and Sabrina Simpkins.
