Old Saybrook Boys’ Hoops Defeats Westbrook; Girls Lose to the Knights
Boys’ Basketball
Following a few weeks away from the floor, the Old Saybrook boys’ basketball team returned to action by playing a road game against Westbrook last week. The Rams defeated the Knights by the final tally of 44-28 at Westbrook High School. With the win, Old Saybrook boosted its record to 2-0 on the season.
Girls’ Basketball
The Old Saybrook girls’ basketball team had one game on its schedule last week when the Rams hosted Westbrook on Jan. 4. Old Saybrook dropped a 40-34 decision against the Knights to put their record at 2-3 on the year.
Old Saybrook had a 26-21 advantage heading into the fourth period, but was outscored 19-8 in the quarter and went on to take the six-point loss. Freshman Breleigh Cooke scored 11 points for Old Saybrook in the game. Senior Sophia Barker scored six points, sophomore Nora Kulman also had six points, and sophomore Alexandra Ling had five points for the Rams.
