07/17/2020 12:00 AMThe North Haven Soccer Club (NHSC) has recently opened registration for the 2020 fall season. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the NHSC is enacting a number of regulations under the guidance of the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association and US Soccer, adopting a phase-in approach with specific requirements to help protect players, families, and coaches from an increased risk of contracting COVID-19.
The NHSC will regularly review, implement, and risk assess the situation regarding COVID-19 based on local, state, and federal guidelines. It will also hold regular debriefings with coaches, players, and parents as needed throughout the season.
The 2020 season will begin and finish earlier, running from the end of August through the middle of October. The level of activity and the regulations will vary and are dependent on phases as determined by the state of Connecticut’s health guidance. Only those activities specifically permitted for each phase may be engaged in by NHSC members. The NHSC will provide access to specific COVID-19 related documents throughout the season.
The NHSC is offering two programs this fall. There will be a U-11 to U-15 program for participants born between 2006 and 2010. There will also be a U-10 program for participants who are aged 10 and younger.
