North Haven Warriors Lose to Madison in Dream League Opener

The North Haven Warriors girls’ lacrosse team played a home game versus Madison to kick off its campaign in the newly formed Dream League. Head Coach Bernie Pellegrino’s club took a 16-3 defeat against Madison in its season opener at North Haven Middle School on July 8.

Callie Kessler, Lorelei King, and Shea Saracino were North Haven’s goal-scorers in the game. Hannah Sommer made five saves in net.

Coach Pellegrino said that his young North Haven team exhibited a great deal of determination against the experienced Madison Mavericks. He credited Kessler and Christina DeAngelo, both recent North Haven graduates, for leading the Warriors at both ends of the field. Pellegrino also noted strong performances from rising seniors Mariella Bicelgia, Mackenzie White, Zaina Gebril, and Sophie Barra; as well as rising juniors King, Saracino, Sophia Dorio, and Eliza O’Connor in the game.
