Shoreline Golf Society Opens New Season with Presidents Cup
The Shoreline Golf Society (SGS) held its first major event of the year when the organization hosted the Presidents Cup at the Fox Hopyard Golf Club in East Haddam on May 24.
Glenn Zavorskas of Madison took first place among a field of 39 players who competed under social distancing guidelines at the event. Zavorskas shot an overall score of 74 and posted a net total of 67 on the par-71 course at Fox Hopyard. Zavorskas’s performance was highlighted by a two-under-par stretch from holes 10 through 14.
Fellow Madison resident Scott Feldman earned runner-up honors by recording an overall score of 77 with a net of 73 at the Presidents Cup. Gerry Mann of Branford came in third place with an overall total of 82 and a net score of 74.
The SGS is an 80-member Connecticut State Golf Association and United States Golf Association member club that competes on 15 different courses in the area. For info or to join the SGS, visit sgsict.com.
