02/15/2020 11:00 PMThe East Haven-Old Lyme-Old Saybrook-Morgan-Valley Regional-East Hampton (EH-OL-OS-M-VR-EH) lost three games last week and is now 7-8 on the season.
On Feb. 11, the Yellowjackets hosted Woodstock Academy and took a 3-1 defeat at Patsy DiLungo Ice Rink. The game was tied at 1-1 entering the third period, where the Centaurs scored the go-ahead goal before sealing the win with an empty-netter late in the game. Sophomore Cory Benni scored the goal for EH-OL-OS-M-VR-EH in the game.
The following evening, the Yellowjackets hosted Hall-Southington for another non-conference matchup and dropped a 3-2 decision in overtime. Senior Alec Speirs and sophomore Duncan Rider netted goals for EH-OL-OS-M-VR-EH.
That next game was a rematch for the Yellowjackets, who faced off against Woodstock Academy for the second time on the week on Feb. 15. Woodstock Academy came away with a 4-2 victory at the Pomfret School, breaking open a close game by scoring an empty-net goal in the final minutes. Benni and Speirs had the goals in the game.
