Madison Youth Cheer Team Competing at Nationals in Florida
The Madison Youth Cheer competition team has had a very successful season thus far by placing in all of its competitions with one more competition to go. The team is affiliated with both the Madison Youth Football and Cheer program, as well as the Shoreline Youth Football and Cheer Conference in Connecticut.
The Madison Tigers won first place at both local and state competitions and then placed in the top three at the New England Regional meet in Massachusetts on Nov. 23. By securing their bid to the regionals, the team earned the opportunity to compete at the American Youth Cheer National competition that’s taking place in Florida from Dec. 11 to Monday, Dec. 16.
The Tigers will be representing New England, the state of Connecticut, and the town of Madison at the national meet. The members of the team feel grateful for this opportunity after having spent the last 18 weeks practicing and preparing for the experience. This fall, they have also been busy cheering for the Madison Youth Football tackle teams during their games on Sundays, as well as giving back to others by donating pajamas for a fundraiser for children in need.
The members of the Madison Youth Cheer competition team are Cristina Case, Lucy Cummings, Sophie Elder, Ashley Fiorella, Gianna Foligno, Juliana Jorens, Abby Kustra, Allison Mulhern, Neala O’Dea, Alessandra Picard, Julianna Picard, Mia Scott, Lilyana Signore, Hailey Yahara, and Katelyn Zagami. The Tigers are coached by Michelle O’Dea and Lindsay Smith.
The team is attempting to reach family, friends, and supporters of the Madison Tigers in order to reach a fundraising goal to help offset costs of the trip. To make a donation to the team, go to madisonyouthfootball.net or visit the Madison Youth Football and Cheer page on Facebook.
