The Branford girls’ swimming and diving team was represented by its 400 freestyle relay when the State Open Championship took place last week. The Hornets’ quartet of sophomore Melissa Juliano, freshman Erika Barone, junior Cordelia Keberle, and junior Gabrielle Gillis posted a time of 3:51.47 to finish in 23rd place at the Open, which was held at Yale University on Nov. 17. The relay team had previously taken fourth place with a time of 3:49.32 at the Class M State Championship on Nov. 13.
