Carpenter Puts Forth a Standout Performance at Cal Ripken, Jr., Baseball Camp
Dominic Carpenter, a sophomore at The Morgan School in Clinton, recently received the Standout Player Award at the Cal Ripken, Jr., Baseball Camp that was held in Aberdeen, Maryland in July. Carpenter was one of many high-school students from around the country who participated in a week-long training program. The camp, which was founded by Baltimore Orioles’ Hall of Fame baseball player Cal Ripken, Jr., provides high-school players with the opportunity to train with former Major League Baseball players. The participants received on-field instruction to develop their skills and work on the fundamentals of the sport, in addition to learning team strategy. Carpenter’s coaches praised him for being a leader of his team who was always ready to help others, while displaying his dedication to the game. Carpenter is a first baseman in the Morgan baseball program and also a member of Clinton Huskies AAU team.
