Let’s Go FLUTES Hits High Note at OSPR Tourney
Old Saybrook Parks and Recreation (OSPR) held is annual Co-ed 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on March 23. A total of six teams made up of 6th-, 7th-, and 8th-graders from Old Saybrook participated in the tournament. The tourney was a free event for all Teen Center members and took place in one night. The teams were randomly seeded for a double-elimination style tournament. This guaranteed that each team would get the chance to play at least two games. All the players made their own rosters and came up with their own team names.
Winning the overall tournament was team Let’s Go FLUTES that consisted of Bradley Kulmann, Drew Kulmann, and Abby Collella. Let’s Go FLUTES was undefeated going into the final game. They were then matched up against The Uniballers featuring Ryan Stratton, Aaron Tolve, and Allie LaMotte in the championship game. The final game was a best-of-3 matchup. The Uniballers handed Let’s Go FLUTES its first loss in Game 1, but Let’s Go FLUTES fought back to win Game 2 and force a final game. Ultimately, Let’s Go FLUTES won it all and was crowned the champion of the tournament.
The OSPR would like to thank all the players who participated this year. For info regarding OSPR programming, visit www.oldsaybrookrec.com.
